UPLIFT in collaboration with Pelikan kicked off 2022 by donating school supplies to children at PPR Pekan Batu, Batu 5, Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur for the new schooling year.
Pelikan contributed school supplies worth RM5000 to 100 underserved families in PPR Pekan Batu.
The donation packs included pencils, colour pencils and pencil pouches. This initiative was mobilised by Ms. Ananthi Kannan, Community Leader of PPR Pekan Batu.
More than just a donation to help ease the financial burden of the children’s families, this initiative by UPLIFT and Pelikan plays an important role in encouraging students to continue their education as the new year comes around. This is in line with UPLIFT’s vision to achieve the UN SDG 4, which is to provide an inclusive and high-quality education which will improve the learner’s standard of living, and the community’s future.
UPLIFT sincerely hopes that this small contribution keeps up the children’s motivation to excel in their education. Children are the future of our nation, and some will grow up to become leaders and captains of industries.
